6th Grade

Sixth Grade Curriculum
- The sixth grade continues to build and develop the skills and concepts from the earlier grades. Higher level reading comprehension, vocabulary development, thinking skills, spelling, and writing and grammar skills are developed in this grade.

  Literature: units of study include: fiction; short stories; narrative, expository, reflective nonfiction; poetry; drama
  
  English: study of English Grammar and writing; emphasis on writing and integration of technology; keyboarding using Writer portable keyboards.
  
  Religion: concentration on study of the bible, particularly the Old Testament; lent; advent; church calendar.
  
  Social Studies: Mexico, Latin America, Central America, Europe, China, Japan, Africa.
